In the recent times where the saudi league has been abducting players for money and players snubbing loyalty for fame has become common. Back in the golden era of football, when football was ruled by Barcelona and Real madrid, everybody respected players like Puyol for his unwavering loyalty, discipline, mentality. After his departure people said there will and are no players like him, but people are forgetting in this new era a player like Puyol stands who is the perfect role model- underrated but the best.
HIS BACKSTORY
Federico Valverde is an Uruguayan midfielder who players for the greatest club of all time - Real madrid.
He was born on july 22, 1998, in Montevideo, Uruguay. Valverde had developed an interest for football since a young age. To continue his dreams he joined Penarol , one of the biggest clubs of uruguay at the time. By the time he was 17 he was already so good that he made his debut for Penarol. His vision, stamina, pace and potential was visible. He was so good that in 2016 the Greatest club of all time- Real madrid could not hold back from signing him. They signed him just for a mere 5 million euros and loaned him out to deportiva la coruna, another spanish team so he could grow. Valverde grew and came back much more confident and better. During that time he was a star for the legendary manager Zidane. He trained alongsides the likes of Ronaldo, Benzema, Bale and many more.

THE MAN FOR MADRID
Valverde first shined for Madrid in 2019. The season was horrible for madrid, constant injuries in the midfield for the like of Toni Kroos, Luka Modric seemed to trouble madrid. Valverde started to replace them and Zidane saw something in him. His eagerness, his Strength as he started playing a pivotal role. He was everywhere on the pitch and the best part was the fact he could play in so many positions and roles. When he was a right-winger, he would go up and deliver the crosses and then come back tracking relentlessly. When he was a Midfielder, he would play amazing passes and defend like a beast. Silently he grew, earning a starting role for Madrid. At this time Madrid wanted a CHAMPIONS LEAGUE , the most esteemed club trophy. Big players had left and Madrid were not looking good. But that year his fellow teammate Karim Benzema had the dream season and played like prime Cr7. Eventually that season with might struggles Madrid reached the European final and in a close encounter they beat liverpool fc 1-0 with Valverde giving the beautiful assist to Vinicius Junior. But the most epic moment of Valverde Definitely came in the 2020 Supercopa De espana Finals. The match was against Atletico De Madrid in Jeddah where the match went to extra time after a 0-0 full time. Madrid were seeming leaky in the extra time and then, disaster nearly struck for Madrid. In the 115th minute, Atlético broke on a deadly counterattack. Alvaro Morata was through on goal, just him and Thibaut Courtois. If he scored, the trophy was gone. But from out of nowhere, Federico Valverde came sprinting back and launched a tackle from the back and bringing Morata down just outside the box.
There were no arguments, it was a straight red card, but instead of backlash everyone applauded him including Diego simione- the atletico coach. This tackle was so crucial that He won the player of the match after Real Madrid won on penalties.
ROCKET MAN VALVERDE
Everybody knows Valverde as a remarkable man. He can run like a cheetah, anticipates like an owl and fights like a Lion but another remarkable trait about his gameplay is his shots. He is every goalkeeper and defenders nightmare. His shots are one of the most powerful ones and most of his goals come from bangers. If u had to take 1 player to score and save your life from long range, your guy is definitely Valverde.
MADRID'S DISSAPOINTING SEASON
After winning 5 trophies in 1 season everybody expected Madrid to dominate again. This time featuring the french superstar Kylian Mbappe they were expected to be unbeaten, however Madrid were not in good form. They fell apart and had a horrible start. After barely qualifying for the ro16 in the champions league everybody started calling many players flop. By the end of the season Madrid went trophyless, which came as a shocker. However some things were taken by notice. Valverde had the most minutes even with injuries and out of position. He was so crucial that he was taken into TOTS ( team of the season).
LEGACY
Valverde is only 26 years old , but even at his young age he has already established a legacy and a careers millions dream of. He is truly the perfect player for any club. His loyalty, passion and work rate is unmatched as for many he might be the best midfielder in the world right now, Federico Valverde's market value is estimated at €130 million. He is the most valuable central midfielder in the world.
